Last Wednesday we had the pleasure of welcoming a number of students and staff from Trinity College School of Theology in Parkville. Our guests included candidates for ministry in the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne, as well as staff members from Trinity and their families. They joined us in prayer for Vespers in the Chapel, before sharing a meal and their company with us.
The Reverend Bob Derrenbacker, Dean of Trinity Theological School, expressed his gratitude for our welcome, and in turn extended to us a warm invitation to join them for Evensong at the Trinity College Chapel sometime soon. He also proudly recalled that our own Rector, Dr Cameron Forbes, is an alumnus of Trinity College himself, having originally studied Law and Arts at Melbourne University. The two men both expressed the hope that this evening would be inaugural of a yearly tradition of fellowship between the colleges.
United by Christian fraternity, and sharing in the call to build God’s kingdom in Melbourne today, it was a great joy to welcome our guests from Trinity College, to see many connections and friendships formed between the Corpus Christi seminarians and Trinity students, and to pray together for a renewal of unity in God’s Church.
