A group of 17 seminarians made the pilgrimage from the Carlton seminary, Corpus Christi College, to Port Pirie for Fr Hau Le's ordination.
The students left on Friday, May 25, to embark on the 12-hour drive to St Mark's Cathedral, Port Pirie for the ordination, which took place at 10am on Saturday, May 26.
Students were hosted by parishioners from Port Pirie.
Upon their return to the College on the Sunday and Monday after the ordination, the students commented upon the warm welcome and wonderful hospitality, which they had received.
Fifth-year Melbourne seminarian, Jude Johnson, was thankful for the efforts the local people went to.
"They were incredible," he said.
"They were very hospitable."
Jude was particularly grateful for the hospitality shown by their hosts John and Geraldine Slattery.
"All my tiredness due to long hours of driving just disappeared when our hosts showed their welcome, hospitality and smile. They looked after us super well," Jude said.
"I thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip."
