The Hobart Archdiocese has a new priest.

Fr Fidelis Udousoro was ordained to the priesthood by the Archbishop of Hobart, Julian Porteous, at St Mary’s Cathedral, Hobart, on Friday, September 14.

The ordination Mass was supported by Fr Fidelis’ family and friends, as well as parishioners of the Hobart Archdiocese.

Many people travelled from Victoria to be present at the ceremony, including the staff and students of Corpus Christi College where Fr Fidelis has been a student since 2014. Rector Fr Denis Stanley was among those present at the ordination.

A number of parishioners from Narre Warren Parish where Fr Fidelis had completed parish work as a deacon were also present at the occasion.

Fr Fidelis’ first Mass was celebrated at St Mary’s Star of the Sea, Burnie, on Sunday, September 16. A large crowd attended the Mass and afterwards a reception was held at Stella Maris Primary School.

The following weekend Fr Fidelis celebrated Mass at Our Lady Help of Christians, Narre Warren.
