Corpus Christi Seminarians Take Home Academic Prizes

Recently, Catholic Theological College held its Annual Mass and Dinner, which involves a number of academic prizes being awarded for essays submitted in the previous year. Two of our students, Simon Zakari and Deacon Josh McDermid, each won two prizes.

Simon was awarded:

The Rod Doyle Prize for an outstanding undergraduate essay in Biblical Studies with his essay ‘The Widow of Nain (Luke7:11-17)’.

The Baronius Prize for an outstanding essay in Church History with his essay ‘The Changes and Aftermath Impact of Vatican II on Catholic Australia.’.

Deacon Josh was awarded:

The Archbishop Coleridge Prize for an outstanding essay in Biblical Studies with his essay ‘Sin and Forgiveness in the Gospel of John’.

The Leslie Tomlinson Prize for an outstanding essay in Moral Theology with his essay: ‘Destination Australia: A Critique of Australia’s Immigration System in light of Catholic Social Teaching’.

Congratulations to Simon and Deacon Josh! They both won $1000 ($500 for each prize).
