The Episcopal Trustees of Corpus Christi College gathered on Friday 6th of March. Their gathering included the celebration of Mass followed by a shared meal with the seminarians and the formation staff.
Mass was celebrated by the Archbishop of Hobart, the Most Rev. Anthony Ireland, in our College Chapel. In his homily bishop Ireland reflected on the theme of “learning how to stand in the place of the Son (Jesus Christ)”. Focusing on the gospel of the day - the parable of the wicked tenants - he explained that it is a foretelling of Jesus’s rejection and betrayal by the people, which is leading to the Easter message of our Lord’s death and resurrection. He also encouraged seminarians to be open to formation and allow God to form their hearts, to be like Christ.
At the conclusion of the meal, Archbishop of Melbourne, Most Rev. Peter Comensoli, presented the first-year seminarians with the college badge and the Catechism as a welcome gift from the Trustees.
